RPM Launches Latest i2 HealthPOD at Best Practice NEC
The Best Practice event this year was a huge success, and RPM were pleased to mark the occasion with the unveiling of our i2 HealthPOD, the latest product in a long line of HealthPOD development stages.
For those people who we managed to speak with it was a pleasure to demonstrate the capability and functionality that comes with our newest model of the HealthPOD, but also discuss the long-term benefits and financial case. The concept is to help manage the flow of routine appointments and take a number of measurements for patients using one quick and simple to use interface. This information is in turn added against the patient record in the clinical database, removing the requirement for additional GP or nurse input.
Giving back valuable time to practitioners and staff is vital to alleviate the volume of work which they have to do, and we were delighted to meet with a number of those people which this kind of technology is aimed at specifically.

RPM's new South West Office will provide an additional touch-point to continue assisting customers across the breadth of the country.
RPM's Commitment to Expansion within the South West Region
RPM Solutions are delighted to announce the opening of its South West office following significant growth in the region. The official opening date is 1st June 2017 with many customers already liaising with regional manager Gyles Chaloner regarding their requirements in the local area.
This has been a necessary extension to increase our support to customers in the locality 24 x 7 x 365.
RPM’s Managing Director Jon Richardson says, “It will now be much easier for our team based here to support practices within the south west region whilst also providing confidence to all our existing and new general practice customers within the region.
By being based centrally to the area in Somerset RPM’s new office will allow for rapid response from the engineering and account management teams as well as the sales guys being able to support further growth in the area.”
RPM now supports over 600 practices Nationwide with further expansion plans for yet another office to be opening shortly in the Greater Manchester region.
All CCGs will be expected to extend GP access on evenings for an extra £6 per patient from April 2019, but weekend opening will 'depend on local demand', NHS England has said.

Formerly labelled ‘The Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund’, guidelines set within the NHS Operational Planning and Contracting Publication released this month outline additional funding which is set to support an upgrade in patient access services.
GP practices are under increasing strain to accommodate a demand for increased opening hours, arising from both a growing patient base and a deficit within clinical recruitment. Practice managers are consistently under pressure to improve efficiency of their services whilst tackling these obstacles, and the announcement of additional funding will come as a welcome relief for those who are challenged to ‘do more with less’. This month’s announcement highlighted that “this will contribute to the overall ambition of investing an extra £2.4bn in general practice services by 2020/21”, a pledge previously made in the GP Forward View.
There are a number of ways in which RPM can assist with improving efficiency within a practice environment, from helping to cut down DNA’s with appointment cancellation lines, inclusive broadband to incorporate a bespoke landing page for your practice as well as options for telephone triage and remote workers.
Most notably, our provision of other bespoke medical technology is aimed at reducing GP workload, with the aim of assisting in long-term preventative care for those who can quickly monitor their vital statistics, often without the need to be seen by a doctor or nurse.

Our dedication to practices and businesses alike has developed to such an extent now it has become increasingly obvious that we have a need for more space and expansion of all aspects of our business to help support our customers.
We are pleased to announce that this resulted in a relocation of our head office in Norfolk, which completed smoothly at the beginning of the month. This is part of a national drive to expand our physical presence between Norwich, Brighton and Bristol, with plans for additional resource across the length and breadth of the UK.

Technology Transformation Funding Available to NHS Practices
The ‘Estates and Technology Transformation Fund‘ for Primary Care is an initiative aimed at GP Surgeries, setting out the importance of investment in premises and technology.
Investment in the GP estate is needed, not just to improve existing facilities, but also to increase flexibility and accommodate multi-disciplinary teams. This comes as renewed focus is placed on the range of care accessible by varying demographics, currently monitored closely during CQC inspections. More training facilities and greater use of technology has been highlighted as key to this enhancement in order to provide care at scale and enable a wider range of services for patients.
